Every year we create a tenant gift giving guide with some recommendations for things you could get your tenants as a gift for the holidays. The reasoning here is simple, you want to have a good relationship with your tenant because it will generally make all of your interactions go more smoothly. They are actually your customers but they are also the steward of your property and if they are happy customers they are more likely to take good care of your property. There is also another reason…if you pick the right gift it can actually help to protect your property, which protects your bottom line and property value.
With that in mind we have decided to focus on only one gift this year…the Ring 1 Doorbell Camera!
We have decided to highlight this specific item which was actually featured on last year’s gift guide………………. because of a couple of reasons. First, there is a new version out that costs $199 which means the cost of the Ring 1 has been reduced to $99 which makes it an excellent deal. Of course if you have a higher end property you should probably just spring for the newer model. But for most properties the original model is completely sufficient and is actually an amazing tool.
With so many people now having the majority of their purchases delivered to their homes the need to monitor the front door is higher than ever. Of course with the increase in package delivery has come the increase of package theft. You have no doubt seen videos on the nightly news taken by security cameras showing people stealing packages. The main disadvantage for normal security cameras is they are usually placed up high so they cannot be tampered with. The problem with this is they do not act as much of a deterrent for would be thieves since they can easily see them.
